Dr. Huma Baqai (IR Expert): Relations between Pakistan and United State have been some sort of roller coaster type. This type of relationship is a dynamic characterized by intense emotional highs and deep lows, typically involving an on-again, off-again cycle. Moreover such ties thrive on passionate connections but frequently crash into severe conflict, often leaving partners feeling addicted to the highs but deeply insecure and exhausted by the instability. However, at present US President Donald Trump is highly appreciative to Pakistani civil military leadership for their leadership role in the Middle East conflict between the US and Iran. Pakistan played a very dynamic and successful mediatory role in the Mideast conflict and proved to be an international key player and stakeholder in region. Pakistan has been actively involved in global peace initiatives. The United States is very supportive to Pakistan’s mediatory role in the region. China also encourages Pakistan to expand its role in the region and beyond.
